Chiropractor returns home, opens clinic in Mt. Pleasant

Matt Donnolly, a 2001 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School, has returned home and today he opened the doors to his own chiropractic office, Mt. Pleasant Chiropractic Clinic.

?Ecstatic,? Donnolly said of moving to Mt. Pleasant and opening his office. ?It?s been fun and challenging.?

Donnolly may be remembered in the community as a competitive athlete; in high school he competed in wrestling, baseball, track and football.

?I?ve known since high school that I wanted to be a chiropractor,? stated Donnolly, citing his positive experiences with chiropractic as a high school athlete.

Upon graduating from MPCHS, Donnolly attended the University of Northern Iowa and Palmer College of Chiropractic. He graduated from the Davenport institution in 2009.

With his degree in chiropractic, he moved to Des Moines. While in the state?s capital city, he worked at a chiropractic office for the past two years.

?I?m really excited, I?ve always wanted to come back to Mt. Pleasant,? he explained. ?I love a small town environment and eventually want to raise a family here.? Moving with Donnolly to Henry County is his fiancée, Sarah Morrison.

Morrison, originally of Iowa City, is currently employed at Eurofins Scientific in Des Moines but will be joining the clinic as its office manager.

The office of the newly remodeled chiropractic office at 204 North Jefferson Street opened today. Donnolly?s family assisted him in the remodel of the space, including his father and his uncle, Mike, which he calls a ?construction guru.? Donnolly?s parents Bob and Marlene, and brother Marcus, as well as Morrison?s parents, Suzi and Jim, helped with the remodel.

The newly refurbished office offers two adjustment rooms, an x-ray room, a children?s chiropractic room with a sea motif and three massage rooms, including one for couples? massages.

Also located in the clinic is The Wellness Connection.

The Wellness Connection opened in Mt. Pleasant in 2000. Its staff of three licensed massage therapists that offer a variety of treatments for clients.
