Christamore treatment center reports outbreak of COVID-19

MT. PLEASANT – Numerous staff and clients of Christamore Family Treatment Center have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Young House Family Services, which operates the Mt. Pleasant center, was notified by the Henry County Department of Public Health on Thursday that a staff member had tested positive.

On Friday, testing was done on remaining staff and clients at the center. The tests showed several more clients and staff were positive for COVID-19. It was not released how many total positive cases were discovered.

According to a statement, 'Young House Family Services is working closely with the Henry County Health Department, Department of Inspections and Appeals, Department of Human Services and is adhering to guidance from the CDC to further limit the spread of COVID-19.”

Young House is not releasing specific details to protect the health care privacy of staff and residents.
