City changing ward boundaries
The Fairfield City Council will act tonight on an ordinance making four adjustments to the city?s wards.
The three westernmost adjustments carve pieces out of the 3rd Ward for additions to the 5th, 4th and 2nd Wards. Another three blocks in the north central section of town will be transferred from the 2nd Ward to 4th Ward.

The Fairfield City Council will act tonight on an ordinance making four adjustments to the city?s wards.
The three westernmost adjustments carve pieces out of the 3rd Ward for additions to the 5th, 4th and 2nd Wards. Another three blocks in the north central section of town will be transferred from the 2nd Ward to 4th Ward.
The adjustments are being made to balance ward populations in accordance with data from the 2010 Census. No current city council members will be put in a different ward under the redistricting.
The council?s agenda for tonight calls for the suspension of rules in order to pass the ordinance through its third and final reading.
