City nomination papers now available
Nomination papers for city elections Tuesday, Nov. 8, are now available from the city clerk?s office. The earliest papers can be filed is Monday, Aug. 29. Papers must be filed by Thursday, Sept. 22, with the city clerk.
In Mt. Pleasant, the council terms of Steve Engberg (at-large), Tim Gray (Ward 1) and Matt Crull (Ward III) expire. Mayor Steve Brimhall?s term also expires.

During last night?s city council meeting, all four said they planned to seek another term. Council terms are four years; the mayor?s term two years.
