City-owned truck catches fire in Washington Thursday
Jul. 3, 2020 1:00 am
WASHINGTON - No injuries were reported after a city-owned truck caught fire Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., the Washington Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene at the city of Washington Parks Department building in Sunset Park. Superintendent Nick Pacha said the truck was being used earlier that day and had been parked for a short time.
While he was in the office, he heard a loud noise. A quick look outside showed the front end of the truck was fully engulfed in flames.
Pacha said no one was injured in the fire, and a toolbox inside was recovered. The cause of the fire is unknown but is expected to be an electrical problem in the engine.
