City police investigate two weekend deaths
The Fairfield Police Department is investigating two deaths ? those of Dustyn Adam and Chauntel Wilkins ? that occurred Saturday and Sunday, respectively, in the southwest part of Fairfield.

The Fairfield Police Department is investigating two deaths ? those of Dustyn Adam and Chauntel Wilkins ? that occurred Saturday and Sunday, respectively, in the southwest part of Fairfield.
According to a press release from the Fairfield Police Department, the first death was reported at 11:48 a.m. Saturday. Officers and emergency medical services responded to 606 W. Jackson Ave. to a report of a 30-year-old man down and not responding.
A death investigation was conducted at the scene, and no crime had been identified as of this morning. The body was sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner?s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The press release states the second death was reported at 8:08 a.m. Sunday. Officers and EMS responded to 606 W. Adams Ave. to the report of a 23-year-old female seizing and not breathing. Resuscitation efforts were attempted without success.
A death investigation was conducted on scene, and no crime has been identified as of this morning.
Adam, a lifelong resident of Fairfield, was the son of Patrick J. and Christine Adam of Fairfield and Marlene Kay and Jim Harbison of Fairfield and the father of Daphne Stone of Mechanicsville. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home.
Wilkins, who has lived in Fairfield since 2005, was raised by the late Max Wilkins and Patrice Sembla Schafer. Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home.
