Class 1A, 2A baseball districts assigned

Districts for postseason baseball have been assigned: the New London baseball team is in Class 1A District 8, while Winfield-Mt. Union/WACO will play in Class 2A District 9.

The Tigers are joined by eight other teams: Danville, Highland, Holy Trinity Catholic, Iowa Mennonite School, Lisbon, Lone Tree, Notre Dame and West Burlington.

The host sites for district competition are Danville and Highland (Riverside). The district final will be played in Washington, but the location of the substate final ? the winner of District 8 against the winner of District 7 ? is yet to be determined.

For W-MU/WACO, district games will be played in Wapello. Along with the Wolves and the host team, District 9 consists of Central Lee, Columbus Community, Louisa-Muscatine and Mediapolis.

Mt. Pleasant is the location of District 9?s substate final against District 10.
