Food safety training offered
Local county offices of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will sponsor a food safety certification course for food service managers and employees from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Great Prairie Area Education Agency office in Burlington.
?We want food that is safe as well as tasty, but we know that food safety hazards and risks are prevalent in today?s world. Serving safe food is mandatory. This training program aims to train food service workers about the safest way to prepare foods as they serve and about industry standards and their obligation to meet them,? said Patricia Steiner, nutrition and health specialist with ISU Extension.
For details or a registration form, call Steiner at 800-914-1914 or the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office at 472-4166.
