Collision near Olds results in one serious injury

OLDS - On the morning of Feb. 26, at the intersection of Highway 218 and Highway 78, a vehicle accident occurred.

According to Eastern Iowa Accidents & Fire, fire and rescue assets were dispatched from WInfield, Olds and Wayland, as well as an ambulance from Henry County Health Center. Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies were on scene, as well as the Iowa State Patrol, the latter handling the accident.

According to Trooper Hudson of the Mt. Pleasant barracks, only one occupant suffered a suspected serious or incapacitating injury. This person was taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where they received care. The injured party, whose name has not been released by the State Patrol, was, nevertheless, in good enough condition to call the State Patrol from the hospital and discuss the accident.

The road was obstructed for approximately 30 minutes.
