Collision on Clay Street
A 2000 Chevrolet truck, operated by Jerry Wells of Mt. Pleasant, stopped for the stop sign on West Clay Street and then pulled out eastbound and struck a 2007 Pontiac, according to a report from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
Brian Belcher of Mt. Pleasant was operating the Pontiac at the time of the collision. Belcher was traveling southbound on Jefferson Street.

A 2000 Chevrolet truck, operated by Jerry Wells of Mt. Pleasant, stopped for the stop sign on West Clay Street and then pulled out eastbound and struck a 2007 Pontiac, according to a report from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
Brian Belcher of Mt. Pleasant was operating the Pontiac at the time of the collision. Belcher was traveling southbound on Jefferson Street.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 10:39 a.m., July 11.
Total damage to the Pontiac and Chevrolet was estimated at $3,500.
No injuries were reported.
Wells was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
The Henry County Sheriff?s office and Dave?s Towing assisted the Mt. Pleasant Police Department at the scene.
