Comet baseball beats Notre Dame
The Comets rallied back from a 2-0 deficit with two runs in the sixth and a three spot in the seventh to steal a 5-3 road win from the Nikes.
Cameron Honomichl earned the win, pitching six innings for Cardinal and scattering eight hits and three runs, two earned. He walked four and struck out three. Trevor Albert pitched the seventh for the save, striking out two and walking one without allowing a hit.

The Comets rallied back from a 2-0 deficit with two runs in the sixth and a three spot in the seventh to steal a 5-3 road win from the Nikes.
Cameron Honomichl earned the win, pitching six innings for Cardinal and scattering eight hits and three runs, two earned. He walked four and struck out three. Trevor Albert pitched the seventh for the save, striking out two and walking one without allowing a hit.
Austin Bride led the offense with two hits and scored the game-tying run on a passed ball in the sixth inning. Trevor Albert, Trey Albert and Drayton Hamm each had a hit for the Comets.
Trevor Albert led off the seventh with a walk and Kaleb Aschenbrenner followed suit with another base on balls. Trey Albert picked up an RBI single to take the lead and Honomichl was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Hamm and Bride knocked in back-to-back RBI singles to extend the lead.
Cardinal improves to 4-3 on the year and 3-2 in the conference with the victory. The Comets will face New London tonight and then play Saturday in Gilman at the East Marshall tournament.
