Cardinal lost to Davis County 52-18 and fell 72-9 to the second-ranked Class 1A Rockets.
The bright spot for Cardinal was its junior state-qualifier Ryan Cale, who finished the day 2-0. The 113-pound Comet pinned Davis County?s Kody Smith in just 19 seconds and earned a forfeit win in the dual with Eddyville.
Cardinal?s Josh Ramos also earned a win at 170 pounds vs. Eddyville, earning a 10-5 decision over Colton Snakenberg. Against Davis County, 152-pound Comet Tommy Cale pinned Ellenore Boas in 1:10.
Freshman Drayton Hamm won by forfeit in the Comets? dual with the Mustangs.
The Comets will get a second shot at Davis County when they return from the holiday break Jan. 3 at a triangular in Packwood.
