Committee recommends not renewing city administrator?s contract

The Fairfield City Council learned Monday that its personnel committee voted 3-0 not to renew the contract of city administrator Kevin Flanagan.

Flanagan?s contract expires June 28. He was not present at Monday?s meeting when personnel committee chairman Doug Flournoy shared the committee?s recommendation. In light of Flanagan?s absence, the council did not discuss Flanagan?s job performance and decided to wait until the April 14 meeting before taking any action.

The personnel committee consists of John Revolinski, Martha Rasmussen and chairman Doug Flournoy. Flournoy said the committee made its recommendation after surveying city councilors, city department heads and outside stakeholders.
