Community baccalaureate service scheduled May 23

Henry County?s Ministerial Association will host the Mt. Pleasant Community Baccalaureate Service for the Class of 2012 Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Community High School Gymnasium.

The service is open to the public, especially the 2012 graduates (and their families) of Mt. Pleasant Community High School, Home Schooling of Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Pleasant Christian School and Mt. Pleasant Wisdom Quest.

The program is entitled ?Living for Christ.?

Baccalaureate is a special ceremony that is centuries old and generally refers to a non-denominational ceremony hosted a few days before high school or college graduation.

The graduating seniors from area Mt. Pleasant school programs have planned this program along with support of the Henry County Ministerial Association. The program will be spiritual in nature; students and faculty will be singing, speaking and playing instruments in honor of this special time in their lives.

Local pastors will give a welcome, prayer and brief talk.

All area students and parents are encouraged to attend and support the graduating seniors.
