This agency is documenting increased incidents of a computer virus scam in the Fairfield area. Subjects are reporting that they are receiving emails advising it is from the U.S. Postal Service and to open it to receive information about picking up a package. If anyone opens this email it will transfer a computer virus.
Officials with the U.S. Postal Service confirmed their agency never sends notifications by email. It is recommended all citizens immediately delete emails that appear to be from the U.S. Postal Service or the U.S. Mail.
