Several laptop computers and a small amount of cash were taken during a burglary over the Thanksgiving weekend at the Mt. Pleasant WisdomQuest School, according to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department. Law enforcement officials also said a fair amount of damage was done at the school.
A police investigation led to the recovery of a stolen iPad computer, belonging to Mt. Pleasant High School.
Information received and evidence led to charges of third-degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor; and possession of stolen property, a serious misdemeanor being filed. A 16-year-old juvenile was found to be the main perpetrator and is currently being searched for by police.
The investigation was partially a result of concerned citizens assisting by calling in suspicious activity. Mt. Pleasant police continues to urge citizens to call in any suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agencies.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
