Confirmed virus case total at 10,404 in Iowa

Twelve more Iowans have died due to COVID-19 according to Iowa Department of Public Health data on Wednesday.
Along with the 12 additional deaths, the state saw 293 new confirmed cases of the virus IDPH data shows.
Iowa's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 10,404.
Gov. Kim Reynolds did not hold her usual news conference on Wednesday. Reynolds traveled to Washington, D.C. to provide a coronavirus update to President Donald Trump according to a news release from the governor's office.
Of the 12 additional deaths on Wednesday, three were residents of Polk County, Jasper and Linn counties had two deaths each and Black Hawk, Clayton, Marshall, Muscatine and Woodbury counties had one death each.
Locally, Washington and Henry counties saw three cases each, bringing the county totals to 152 and 40 respectively. Jefferson County remains at six cases in total.
Wednesday followed Iowa's deadliest day due to COVID-19 so far as Tuesday saw 19 deaths from the virus.
As of Wednesday, 63,171 Iowans have been tested for COVID-19 and 3,803 have been confirmed as recovered according to IDPH data.
