Construction crews finishing work on north section of Iris Street

Construction crews are wrapping up work on North Iris Street from north of the Walmart Distribution entrance to Winfield Avenue, according to Warner Engineering Associates, Inc. of Mt. Pleasant, project engineer.

Cole Construction will be working on breaking and removing the rest of the concrete from the north end of the white topping to Winfield Avenue. Cole will then be grading and installing sub-base material. Weather permitting, they plan to have their work completed by tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

Shipley Contracting is pouring the northbound lane of Iris Street from the center of the Walmart driveway to the south end of the white topping today. Weather permitting, Shipley will be pouring the north section of Iris Street by Wednesday.

Warner estimates pouring the north Walmart driveway Thursday or Friday of this week.

Cole Construction began sewer construction Friday at the northeast corner of West Liberty Foods and is proceeding west to the east side of Iris Street in the extension of the Mapleleaf Drive right-of-way. The process will take two or three days to reach Iris Street.

Finally, Cole is working on the shoulder construction along the white topping section this week.

No changes are planned to the road closure schedule for most of the week.
