Construction update

The Cherry Street and Mapleleaf Drive intersection in Mt. Pleasant will be closed weather permitting for 10 to 14 days, effective immediately. The intersection is being closed so that Mapleleaf Drive can be paved from the west side of Cherry Street, to the new pavement at the east side of Grand Avenue.

Jones Contracting is in charge of the work and will pour the connecting Cherry Sttreet intersection, north and south to Mapleleaf Drive.

Jones Contracting will also be working to complete the Cherry Street Intersection as soon as the main line has been poured. At this time, the main line is scheduled to be poured sometime during the week of May 23. Workers will also be paving turn lanes, driveways and the frontage road east of Grand Avenue the week of May 23 that connect to Mapleleaf Drive.

Work on Mapleleaf Drive from Grand Avenue to Harvey Drive is slated to be completed by June 10.
