Norris Asphalt Paving of Ottumwa plans to complete the intermediate course of hot mix asphalt on the east end of Burlington Avenue/Business 34 in Fairfield this week, weather permitting.
Norris will have two paving crews working on the job.
Plans are to work on, and if the weather cooperates,to complete the surface course the entire length of the project next week. When the surface course is completed, traffic will be put on the outside lanes while the contractor works on bringing manholes up to surface level and paving the intersections.
When the work on the manholes and intersection paving are done, the cones will remain in place keeping traffic to the outside of the street for approximately two weeks. The asphalt will ?cure? during the two week time frame.
Once the cure is complete, pavement marking tape will be placed in a three lane configuration.
