CRAWFORDSVILLE - Crews started pavement patching on stretches of 305th Street and Spruce Avenue in rural Washington County Monday, Sept. 8 according to the Washington County Engineer’s Office.
The roadwork will direct drivers through the area using flaggers and a pilot car, according to a county press release, which said the construction would last 1-2 weeks.
The affected area includes Spruce Avenue between Highway 92 and 280th Street, as well as the portion of Spruce Avenue between Fern Cliff Road and Crawfordsville. In total, the patching will cover just over 6 miles of roadway.
The county engineer’s office noted that fines are doubled in work zones, saying it “encourages drivers to slow down and use caution in work zones and to pay attention to roadway signage.”
Questions about the project can be directed to the Washington County Engineer’s Office by calling 319-653-7731.
