The Rev. Nick Longworth, grief therapist, will present a ?Coping with the Holidays? free seminar at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, 709 E. Mapleleaf Drive in Mt. Pleasant.
A resident of Cedar Rapids, he will be presenting several ideas on how to survive the upcoming holiday season. This annual seminar invites anyone who is enduring any type of loss to attend, says a news release from Olson-Powell.
Longworth, a United Methodist Church pastor, has spoken to thousands of people on a variety of topics relating to loss through death. He has designed and facilitated bereavement support groups for people of all ages and consults with schools, businesses and other groups regarding sudden death.
After serving for six years as the chaplain for St. Luke?s Hospice, he is now the St. Luke?s Hospital Director of Pastoral Care in Cedar Rapids. Longworth received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and obtained his graduate degree from the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Mo.
