Corman wins SEISC title for Van Buren
MEDIAPOLIS ? Van Buren?s Zach Corman took the 215-pound title at the SEISC wrestling tournament Saturday in Mediapolis, but the short-handed Warriors fell to last out off 11 teams in the final team standings.
Corman pinned Wapello?s Jacob Kerr in 3:53 to claim the title.
285-pound Ryan Kruse added a sixth-place finish for Van Buren, which scored a total of 40 points.
Cardinal ends up fifth

Cardinal ends up fifth
MEDIAPOLIS ? The Cardinal wrestling team came up with an impressive fifth-place finish at the SEISC tournament Saturday.
The Comets scored 124 points thanks to 10 different wrestlers placing in the top six in their respective divisions.
Andrew Hemm led the way taking a runner-up finish at 189. Hemm fell to sixth-ranked (1A) Spencer Shepherd of WACO in the finals.
Other results for Cardinal included Sid McMartin (152) and Tonch Craver (171) taking third and Robert McLaughlin finishing fourth at 135. Fifth-place results included Ryan Cale (112), Austin Deshler (140), Joe Olson (145), Josh Fuhs (160) and Austin Cassat (215). Patrick Lind placed sixth at 119.
Host Mediapolis won the team event with 194 points followed by Columbus with 178 and Louisa-Muscatine with 155.
Pekin places eighth
MEDIAPOLIS ? The Pekin wrestling team ended up eighth out of 11 teams at the SEISC tournament with 82.5 points.
Saturday?s individual results included Jacob Cooley taking runner-up honors at 152 pounds. Cooley was beaten by major decision, 12-4, by MEPO?s Adam Drain in the final match.
Austyn Vogel (125) and Derek Morales (185) both wound up in thrid place, Jordan Dailey (130) was fourth, Thomas Slaney (189) took fifth and sixth-place finishes were added by T.J. Daily (135), Tayte Schoff (140) and Trenton Conger (171).
