Costumed children magically appear at Hocus Pocus in Park

WASHINGTON - Little ghosts, superheroes, princesses and more haunted Washington's square on Friday night.
The Hocus Pocus on the square was a hit in town with many families showing up in costumes to participate. Kids ran around the square, participating in activities and getting their fill of candy.
The costume contest was a hit with a variety of costumes winning such as a police officer, a princess and Junie B. Jones.
Volunteers said everyone loved the event, and there was a great turnout.
There was a free meal, graveyard games, candy bag giveaway, pumpkin giveaway and a decorating contest from Hy-Vee.
More than 150 pumpkins were given away and a majority of the candy bags were grabbed by costumed kids.
After all the excitement died down, the move 'Hocus Pocus” was played. Many attendees enjoying popcorn bought from State Theater and cuddled up in blankets for the cool fall weather.
