Henry County supervisors dipped into the real estate market during their meeting Thursday, purchasing six acres of land adjacent to the county quarry.
Supervisor Chairman Marc Lindeen said the county doesn?t have any definite plans for the land but said the additional land will provide more room for the county?s rock-crushing operation.
Approval was given for the promotion of an employee in the county recorder?s office from part-time to full-time. Supervisors also learned that Henry County Recorder Shirley Wandling will be retiring Nov. 1. Wandling has been county recorder for approximately 11 years and has worked in the office nearly 45 years.
Supervisors also reviewed the county?s subdivision requirements to ensure they were similar to the requirements of the city.
The board meets again in regular session Sept. 12, at 9 a.m. in the courthouse.
