County sheriff investigating Ainsworth stabbing

A stabbing case in Ainsworth reported on Friday night remains under investigation, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

"One stabbing victim was transported from the scene to the University of Iowa Hospital,“ a news release from the department said on Monday. ”The victim was treated and has been released.“

The call for service of the incident said that while the victim remained conscious after the alleged attack, “suspects … left the residence (with) unknown destination or direction of travel.”

The news release promised future updates on the case.

“The incident is currently under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and further information will be provided when it becomes available,” it said.
