Associate District Court
Todd Alan Zanoni, 27, of Ottumwa, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while barred as a habitual offender, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, less credit for time served. This sentence is to run consecutively with a sentence in two Wapello County cases. His sentence was suspended. He was placed on two years probation, fined $625 plus a 35 percent surcharge. He was ordered to pay restitution, court-appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. If he does not have fingerprints on file with law enforcement, he was ordered to be fingerprinted.
Cory Raymond Prevett, 26, of Stockport, received a deferred judgment after pleading guilty to eluding/attempting to elude and operating while intoxicated, a Class D felony. He was placed on five years probation, ordered to get a substance abuse evaluation and fined $750. He was ordered to pay court costs and court-appointed attorney fees if any. Two more cases were dismissed with costs to the defendant. Count II was dismissed per a plea agreement. If he does not have fingerprints on file with law enforcement, he was ordered to be fingerprinted. He was ordered to provide a specimen for DNA profiling.
William G. Viers Jr. of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, less credit for time served. His sentence was suspended, and he was placed on two years probation. He was fined $625 plus a 35 percent surcharge, a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. He was ordered to pay restitution, court-appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. He was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow its recommendations and successfully complete an Iowa domestic abuse treatment program and pay costs. If he does not have fingerprints on file with law enforcement, he was ordered to be fingerprinted.
Shelby Thompson Sammons, 34, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. Sammons was sentenced to two years in prison, less credit for time served; the sentence was suspended. Sammons was placed on two years probation, fined $625 plus a 35 percent surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. Sammons was ordered to pay restitution, court-appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. If Sammons does not have fingerprints on file with law enforcement, Sammons was ordered to be fingerprinted.
Jim Irvin Williams, 52, of Libertyville, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense, and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served. All but two days was suspended. He was placed on two years probation, his license was revoked and he was ordered to successfully complete a drinking drivers course and obtain a substance abuse evaluation. He was fined $1,250 plus a 35 percent surcharge and a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge. He was ordered to pay court-appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. If he does not have fingerprints on file with law enforcement, he was ordered to be fingerprinted.
