Richard Wayne Shaul Jr., 40, of Dallas Center pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted burglary and forgery. Shaul was ordered to pay two $625 fines and two $125 law enforcement initiative surcharges. A two-year jail sentence was suspended in favor of two years probation.
Mason Christian Paulos of Agency pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated-first offense and received a deferred judgment. Paulos was ordered to pay a $1,250 civil penalty and was placed on probation for two years.
DISTRICT COURT
Carl Lloyd Churchill Sr., 76, 205 E. Broadway Ave., pleaded guilty to incest and was ordered to register as a sex offender. A five-year jail sentence was suspended in favor five years probation plus an additional 10 years under supervision. He was fined $750.
Roth David Thommen, 25, of Ottumwa received a deferred judgment for first-degree theft. He was placed on probation for five years and ordered to complete 80 hours of community service. Thommen was ordered to pay a $1,000 civil penalty. He also must apologize to the victim and pay $4,043 in restitution.
Zachary Dean Delaney, 24, 613 W. Adams Ave., pleaded guilty to third-degree sexual abuse and was ordered to register as a sex offender. A $1,000 fine was suspended, and Delaney was ordered to pay a $250 civil penalty. A 10-year jail sentence was suspended in favor of five years probation.
