Magistrate Court
Rochelle Engle of 1007 W. Spaulding Ave., pleaded guilty to simple assault and was fined $195.
District Court
Tyler Curran Koenecke, 25, of 901 W. Grimes Ave., was convicted of possession with intent to deliver morphine, a Class C felony. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, less credit for time served in jail at arrest. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years probation. He was ordered to successfully complete an inpatient substance abuse treatment at the Iowa Residential Treatment Center in Mount Pleasant; pending an available bed there, he remains in the custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff. Upon completing treatment at the Iowa Residential Treatment Center, he is to enroll and reside in a residential facility in the Eighth Judicial District for 180 days or until maximum benefits are attained. Pending an available bed in the residential facility/halfway home, he remains in the custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff. He was fined $1,000 plus a 35 percent surcharge and ordered to pay a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, court appointed attorney fees if any and courts costs. He was ordered to submit a specimen for DNA profiling. His driving operator privileges were revoked for 180 days.
Samantha Latisha Owings, now known as Samantha Latisha Rowe, 22, of Bloomfield, violated probation and had her probation revoked. She was sentenced to five years in prison less credit for time served.
Associate District Court
Nathan James Prunty, 25, of Lockridge, had his deferred judgment revoked on a probation violation. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Division of Adult Corrections.
Brendan Simpson, 18, of 2524 Glasgow Road, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor, and received a deferred judgment with two years probation. He was fined $315 and ordered to pay a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, restitution of $1,448, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. Another Jefferson County case was dismissed with costs to the defendant.
Reginald Lane Hughell, 60, of Batavia, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense and received a deferred judgment with one year of probation. He was ordered to have a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days and follow any recommendations. He was fined $1,250 and ordered to pay court costs, restitution and court appointed attorney fees if any. He was ordered to get fingerprinted if none are already on file.
James Mirl Park, 47, of Ollie, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense and received a deferred judgment with one year of probation. He was ordered to have a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days and follow any recommendations. He was fined $1,250 and ordered to pay court costs, restitution and court appointed attorney fees if any. He was ordered to get fingerprinted if none are already on file. Another case was dismissed with costs to the defendant.
Charles Bernard Bickford of North Liberty, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years probation. He was fined $315 plus a 35 percent surcharge, ordered to pay a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, restitution and court costs. He was ordered to get fingerprinted if none are already on file.
Clarence Edward Fosdyck, 48, of Eldon, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while barred ? a habitual offender, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, less credit for time served. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years probation. He was fined $625 plus a 35 percent surcharge and ordered to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fees and court costs. He was ordered to get fingerprinted if none are already on file.
Justin William Winter, 25, of Chariton, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while barred ? a habitual offender, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 360 days in jail, less credit for time served. All but 14 days were suspended, with work release, and he was placed on two years probation. He was fined $625 plus a 35 percent surcharge. He was ordered to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fee if any and court costs. He was ordered to get fingerprinted if none are already on file. Another case was dismissed with costs to the defendant.
Dustin Leonard Day, 29, of South English, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served. All but two days were suspended and he was placed on two years probation and his license was revoked. He was ordered to successfully complete a course for drinking drivers and have a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days. He was fined $1,250 plus a 35 percent surcharge, and a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge. He was ordered to pay court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. He was ordered to get fingerprinted if none are already on file. Count I was dismissed with costs to the defendant.
