Plans can change and the North Iris Street paving project is surely evident of that statement.
However, as of noon Monday, Warner Engineering said it is hoped that the 2014 portion of the North Iris paving project will be completed by this Friday.
Plans are to take off two layers Wednesday of the burlap bags on the area to be paved. On Thursday, the remaining burlap layers will be removed and crews will start to tie steel.
As soon as temperatures reach an adequate level Thursday, paving will begin and continue as late as temperatures allow. It is hoped the mainline will be finished Friday.
Shipley Contracting, the general contractor for the project, will do the railroad header next week and also hopes to get the driveways poured as soon as possible.
The remainder of the North Iris project will be completed in the spring of 2015.
