OTTUMWA (AP) ? Mediacom customers in several southern Iowa cities lost high-speed Internet service because of problems with a cut cable.
The Ottumwa Courier reports customers lost their Internet service Sunday night in Albia, Bloomfield, Centerville, Fairfield, Oskaloosa and Ottumwa.
Mediacom spokeswoman Phyllis Peters says the problem was traced to a third-party fiber company that provides service to Mediacom and other companies.
Fixing the problem took time because crews had to find the broken line in a wooded area.
Most customers had their service restored by Monday afternoon.
