Cut water line break prompts boil advisory

On Friday afternoon, the city of Washington issued a temporary boil advisory for the Timber Ridge, Oakwood and West Lincoln Street neighborhoods, including the Washington Golf and Country Club.
City Administrator Brent Hinson said that a contractor hit a water line along West Lincoln Street Friday morning, causing the area to lose pressure.
Water was shut off as service was being restored, and bacteria tests would be taken and verified before the boil advisory was lifted, which was expected to be within 24 hours.
