MT. PLEASANT - On Feb. 28, from 6-9 p.m., the annual Daddy Daughter Dance will be held at Mt. Pleasant High School. The long-standing event will see photos, punch and cookies served, crafting projects, raffles and prizes.
Although T-shirts were available to registered parties, as of Feb. 6, they have run out. Nevertheless, registration is still open, for the price of $20 per person. As of the writing of this article, 377 people have registered.
This is the first year the Daddy-Daughter Dance has been organized by Erin Heaton and Henry County 4-H. Previously, the dance was organized by the American Cancer Society. But, as of last year, they have passed the torch to the 4-H.
As a result, all proceeds of the dance will help fund the 4-H Society’s programming in Henry County. These include summer camps, chick-hatching for elementary schoolers, after-school programs, and educational nutrition programs.
