Date set for horse driving clinic

With assistance from the Horse and Pony 4-H Club parents, leaders and the Southeast Iowa Draft Horse and Mule Association, the third annual 4-H Horse Driving Clinic will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
This event will be held in conjunction with the 4-H Pancakes and More Breakfast on the fairgrounds April 23. Youth may register to attend the clinic from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-3 p.m.
Youth will be paired with their own hitched draft horse team and an experienced teamster to help train youth. The clinic will include harnessing demonstrations, hitching demonstrations, driving clinic and end with a driving class competition.
This unique opportunity is open to Washington County 4-H youth enrolled for the 2021-2022 4-H year. Youth do not have to be a Horse & Pony member to participate and learn. Preregistration is required online by April 8 at https://tinyurl.com/4Hhorsedriving2022
Free to participate. Youth must wear jeans, boots or close-toed shoes and riding helmet.
