Dean Vantiger, FNP, GS-C joins WCHC team

Washington County Hospital and Clinics is pleased to announce that Dean Vantiger, FNP, GS-C has joined the medical team as the Long-Term Care Provider at WCHC. Vantiger began serving local nursing home residents Oct. 2, 2023.
“We are pleased to welcome Dean to our team of primary care providers,” said Todd Patterson, Chief Executive Officer at WCHC. “Dean will be specifically serving the long-term care residents in our community. He will serve his patients and their families well, guiding them through complex health issues and manage care options collaborating with interdisciplinary providers.”
Vantiger received his Masters of Nursing at Clarke College in Dubuque, his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Iowa in Iowa City, and his Registered Nurse designation from Southeastern Community College in West Burlington. Dean has more than 15 years of valuable experience in emergency and long-term care nursing, with the last nine as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and Hospitalist in a long-term care, clinic and hospital setting. He is passionate about hospice care and has served in the role as an Associate Medical Director for hospice care. Dean is certified by the Geriatric Nurse Practitioners Association and is a member of the Iowa and American Nurse Practitioner Associations.
WCHC’s Long Term Care Provider serves residents of United Presbyterian Home and Halcyon House in Washington as well as Parkview Home in Wayland and Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Vantiger will provide on-site quick sick visits, medication reviews, and management of ongoing health issues.
