Deaths ruled homicide and suicide
COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Law enforcement officials have ruled the autopsy findings from an incident that occurred Sunday, leaving two people dead, are consistent with a homicide and suicide.
According to a press release from the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office, autopsies were performed Monday on Maria C. Moedano, 46 and Pedro P. Moedano, 47. The findings were that Maria Moedano died of multiple gunshot wounds

COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Law enforcement officials have ruled the autopsy findings from an incident that occurred Sunday, leaving two people dead, are consistent with a homicide and suicide.
According to a press release from the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office, autopsies were performed Monday on Maria C. Moedano, 46 and Pedro P. Moedano, 47. The findings were that Maria Moedano died of multiple gunshot wounds while her husband Pedro Moedano died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
At 1:09 a.m. Sunday, the Louisa County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call reporting that a shooting had occurred at 1304 Colton Street in Columbus Junction. Officers from the Columbus Junction Police Department, Louisa County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol responded and discovered an adult female and an adult male deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. The Columbus Junction Police Department requested assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
The death investigation was conducted by the Columbus Junction Police Department, Louisa County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
