The Washington County Attorney?s office announced Friday that Samantha Debler, 24, was sentenced to prison for 25 years after being previously convicted in February 2018.
During the trial, Debler was convicted of commission of specified unlawful activity, a Class B felony; and manufacture, delivery or possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver marijuana, a Class D felony. The sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections. After violating the terms of the probation, Debler?s probation was revoked on Aug. 31 and the original sentence was imposed. She will serve up to 25 years in the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women in Mitchellville.
Debler?s charges were the result of a joint criminal investigation involving the Washington County Sheriff?s office and the Washington Police Department, which targeted an ongoing operation of selling controlled substances in the area. Debler was involved with bringing marijuana from Colorado to Washington County.
