Delane E. Craig

Delane E. Craig, 78, of Washington, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Windmill Manor, in Coralville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., at the Beatty Funeral Home, in Washington. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 4, at 4 p.m., at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Wesley.

Craig was born on Jan. 19, 1939, in Ducktown, Tenn., the son of John and Reathel (Cole) Craig. He worked on high lines for 50 years for LE Meyers, in Chicago and Marshalltown. On Jan. 1, 1957, he was united in marriage to DeLores Monson, in Ainsworth. The couple owned and operated The Chocolate Shop, in Washington, and Delano?s, in Ainsworth and Brighton.

He enjoyed boxing.

Craig is survived by his wife, DeLores, of Washington; a brother, Darrell (Brenda) Craig, of Bluegrass; and a sister, Helen Bowman, of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Zane and Rosmond ?Peewee? Craig; and one sister, Delores Stepp.
