KALONA ? Della Faye Yoder, 85, formerly of Kalona, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, in Country View in North Liberty.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman with the Rev. Nathan Ramer officiating. Burial will be in the Wellman Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Country View and Alzheimer?s Association of Greater Iowa. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Yoder was born Dec. 1, 1930, in Shickley, Nebraska, the daughter of Lloyd and Emma (Kennel) Troyer. She married Keith E. Yoder on Aug. 25, 1950, at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman.
She graduated from Wellman High School. She and her husband made their home in the Kalona community, where they farmed. She owned and operated Yoder Antiques, Gifts and Quilts, retiring in 2001. She was a faithful member of the Wellman Mennonite Church, where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher, MYF sponsor for many years, member of WMSC, served on the food committee and the Planning and Building Committee. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening, tending to her flower beds, watching birds, and traveling.
Surviving are one daughter, Joette Droz of Kalona; one son, Brian Yoder and wife Lynn of Kalona; one son-in-law, Rick Hookway of Kalona; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verda Troyer, and Alta Troyer of Kalona; and one sister-in-law, Vivian Troyer of Wellman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith; one daughter, Judy Hookway; one son-in-law, Dave Droz; one grandson; four brothers, Lloyd J., Wilbur, Warren, and Ivan; and three sisters, Ida Kliewer, Wilma Becker, and Nettie Fehlberg.
