Demolition preparation
Phil McMillin, left, and Larry Adam of Taylor Industries in Des Moines remove the refrigerant from HVAC units on the roof of the former Econofoods building this morning. Asbestos removal work is completed and electrical work is taking place prior to the scheduled demolition of the building. A construction date for the new Hy-Vee Food Store on the site has not been determined.
