On Aug. 9, the sheriff?s office received a report of a phone scam. The scam consisted of the caller informing the person that they are responsible for tax fraud and evasion and that the person needed to seek legal counsel immediately. If the person did not seek legal counsel that the caller was providing, that person would be arrested.
The only thing the person had to do was pay for the legal counsel that was being provided.
