Deputies investigate two accidents on Monday
Henry County Sheriff?s deputies investigated a pair of one-vehicle accidents on Monday, Aug. 29, within a two-and-one-half hour time span.
Deputies were dispatched at 6 p.m., to mile marker 233 on U.S. Highway 34 near Mt. Pleasant.

Henry County Sheriff?s deputies investigated a pair of one-vehicle accidents on Monday, Aug. 29, within a two-and-one-half hour time span.
Deputies were dispatched at 6 p.m., to mile marker 233 on U.S. Highway 34 near Mt. Pleasant.
The investigation revealed that Nicholas Davis, 38, of Ottumwa, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet and hydroplaned off the roadway due to the rain. The vehicle struck a guardrail and was estimated at a total loss. No injuries were reported.
The sheriff?s office received a report of an accident at 8:25 p.m. between 215th and 220th streets near Mt. Pleasant.
As a result of the investigation, it was learned that a 2013 Ford, driven by Wendy Jennings, 42, of Mt. Pleasant, struck a deer and sustained approximately $3,000 in damages. No injuries were reported.
