Deputies investigate vehicle/animal accidents
It's animal season on the roads as the Henry County Sheriff's Office has recently investigated three vehicle vs. animal collisions.
Two vehicle-deer accidents were reported Oct. 17. In the first accident, Christine Shadle, Morning Sun, reported a minor car/deer accident in the 2700 grid of Logan Avenue. Damage was estimated under $1,500 to Shadle's vehicle and no injuries were reported.

Two vehicle-deer accidents were reported Oct. 17. In the first accident, Christine Shadle, Morning Sun, reported a minor car/deer accident in the 2700 grid of Logan Avenue. Damage was estimated under $1,500 to Shadle?s vehicle and no injuries were reported.
Later that day, Todd Barton, Mt. Pleasant, told deputies that his 2003 GMC pickup struck a deer in the 1600 grid of Oakland Mills Road.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at over $1,500 and no injuries were reported.
On Oct. 19, the sheriff?s office received a call from a motorist requesting assistance near the intersection of 195th Street and U.S. Highway 218. Deputies arrived and determined the motorist was involved in a collision with a raccoon.
Jaden Egley, 19, Winfield, was driving west on Highway 78 when a raccoon ran in front of the vehicle. The raccoon did disabling damage to Egley?s 2007 Hyundai. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,200.
