Deputies were summoned to the 1500 grid of U.S. Highway 218 Thursday for a single vehicle and deer accident. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer, operated by Michael Burgos, of Torrance, Calif., was traveling north and struck a deer in the roadway.
The tractor-trailer sustained $3,000 damage. No injuries were reported.
Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident July 20 on U.S. Highway 34, east of Mt. Pleasant. An investigation revealed that a front tire came off an eastbound 1997 Ford, driven by Reality Ankele, of West Burlington, and struck a westbound Dodge pickup, driven by Saul Castillo, of Anthony, N.M.
Castillo?s vehicle received $3,200 in damage to the front bumper and grill area. No injuries were reported.
The sheriff?s office was notified of a disturbance July 19 in the 2500 grid of 190th Street. As a result of the incident, Kelsi Kingery, of Mt. Union, was charged with public intoxication, a serious misdemeanor.
