Mt. Pleasant Utilities plans to have its work finished on the Baker Street construction project by Friday, according to Warner Engineering Associates of Mt. Pleasant, the engineer for the project.
Baker Street will be closed, beginning Monday, May 8, from Becky Lane to Palm Avenue for the start of concrete removal and grading for the new paving. The grading, sub-drain installation and sub-base rock placement will take two weeks.
Following placement of sub-base rock, Hickey Contracting will fine grade the sub-base, set forms and pour the north half of pavement on Baker Street from Becky Lane to Palm Avenue.
Once the north half cures, the south half will be poured. Once Hickey finishes paving, they will be pouring driveways.
All dates are weather permitting.
