State Sen. Adrian Dickey, R-Packwood, officially filed for re-election at the Capitol this week to run for re-election in Senate District 44.
“This week I officially filed for re-election with the Secretary of State’s office, proudly running to represent southeastern Iowa,” Dickey said. “In my next term, I plan to continue working on legislative priorities that get Iowans back to work, lower taxes, and support small businesses.
“I will keep advocating for southeastern Iowans, advancing solutions to issues that affect our rural citizens the most. Senate Republicans are finding solutions to the workforce shortage, and I am dedicated to promoting personal responsibility in common-sense, conservative legislation. I look forward to taking my ‘To protect what common sense looks like’ message that got me elected to SD41 last year, to SD44 this fall.”
Dickey was first elected to the Iowa Senate in a special election in 2021. He serves as the chair of the Labor and Business Relations Committee, vice-chair of the Transportation Committee, and also sits on the Ways and Means Committee.
After the passage of new redistricting maps and effective with elections in 2022, Senate District 44 will include the Keokuk, Jefferson and Van Buren counties, as well as portions of Mahaska and Henry counties.
Dickey is a proud father of two. A lifelong Packwood resident, he continues to work in the family business that his grandfather started in 1969.
He currently serves as the president of Dickey Transport and is a past parish council member in Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Fairfield.
Dickey is also a member of many other state and local groups, including the Packwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department since 1992.
