LeRoy Havel’s contributions add up to largest private donation in hospital’s history

WASHINGTON — The Washington County Hospital Foundation is honored to announce a second generous donation of $500,000 from longtime community member and benefactor, LeRoy Havel. This remarkable contribution follows his previous donation in May and once again demonstrates his unwavering commitment to health care services in Washington County. With this latest gift, LeRoy Havel’s total contributions amount to $1 million, making this the largest private donation WCHC/WCHF has ever received.

Following multiple stays in the Washington County Hospital and Clinics Inpatient Unit, Havel was deeply moved by the exceptional care and dedication of the hospital staff. Inspired by their compassion and professionalism, he has chosen to extend his philanthropic support in memory of his late wife, Colleen, his brother Bob, wife Patricia, and his parents, Roy and Lillian Havel.

LeRoy’s latest donation will be directed toward critical areas within the hospital, enhancing medical services and infrastructure to benefit the entire community. His extraordinary generosity underscores his dedication to improving health care access and ensuring a strong future for Washington County Hospital and Clinics.
