A traffic stop turned into a drug arrest after a positive identification from the Henry County Sheriff's office canine.
The Henry County Sheriff's office reported that on Friday, July 26, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Highway 34 near Penn Avenue because the subject was speeding, 76 mph in a 65 mph zone. During the stop, the officer was given false identification by the subject and the narcotics canine performed a sniff of the vehicle and alerted the handler.
A search of the vehicle resulted in marijuana being located inside. As a result, Cimion George, 29, was arrested for possession of Marijuana 3rd or subsequent offense and driving under suspension.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
