Driver distracted by cell phone causes crash
A driver distracted by her cellular telephone crossed the centerline of a road Monday afternoon and sideswiped a truck, according to a report from the Henry County Sheriff?s Office.
Angela Dawn Whitehall, no age listed, of Keokuk was driving her 2002 Oldsmobile southbound on Franklin Avenue when she became distracted and crossed the centerline, causing the Oldsmobile to sideswipe a truck.

A driver distracted by her cellular telephone crossed the centerline of a road Monday afternoon and sideswiped a truck, according to a report from the Henry County Sheriff?s Office.
Angela Dawn Whitehall, no age listed, of Keokuk was driving her 2002 Oldsmobile southbound on Franklin Avenue when she became distracted and crossed the centerline, causing the Oldsmobile to sideswipe a truck.
The Oldsmobile collided with a 2005 Dodge Dakota owned and operated by Herman Clark Hays, no age listed, of Mt. Pleasant.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
The two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 4:52 p.m. on Aug. 6 in the 2600 grid of Franklin Avenue.
The report from the sheriff?s office did not specify whether Whitehall was texting or not at the time of the accident.
Damages to the Oldsmobile were estimated at $2,750 while damages to the Dodge Dakota were estimated at $3,000.
Whitehall was issued a citation for driving on the wrong side of a two way highway.
