DALLAS CENTER (AP) ? The Dallas Center council has approved closing some streets so a local bar can host a dwarf wrestling show that had raised some concerns.
The Des Moines Register says the council approved a request by the Longest Yard Sports Grill on Tuesday.
The show will go on as thousands of bicyclists roll through town in July during RAGBRAI, or the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa.
The show had been criticized by some people who said it could cast Dallas Center in a negative light. Councilman Terry Gibson said the show sounded more like ?a carnival event ? not an afternoon, evening community event.?
Dallas Center is about 20 miles west-northwest of Des Moines.
